How Much Water Do 100 Head of Cattle Need per Day?
As a rule of thumb, beef cattle drink between 20 and 30 gallons per day, with the high end coming in hot weather. Using those figures, we simply do the math.
50 head of cattle x 30 gallons per day = 1,500 gallons per day
100 head of cattle x 30 gallons per day = 3,000 gallons per day
At 6 pumping hours a day, 3,000 gallons works out to a little over 8 gallons per minute. That puts 100 head in the range of our HR-12-328, which produces about 3,600 gallons per day at 300 feet of head.
